  • You’re about to go on holidays to Italy and need to learn some survival Italian (because the Italians don’t really speak much English! 😉 ).

Have a look at the F.A.Q. below or, if you can’t find your question, please contact me!

What are Italian Drop-In Classes?
Italian drop-in classes are 1h classes packed with language activities that will help you to get the basic of the Italian language, plus meet new people and have fun together.

Why are they called “drop-in classes”?
Unlike a conventional language course, where you feel compelled to go every day, you are free to choose when to come. And if you miss a lesson, no pressure! You pay as you go and you can drop-in whenever you are free, according to your own schedule.

Who teaches these classes?
The classes are taught by me, Ermy, a qualified and experienced language teacher (if you want to find more about me, go here).

How is every lesson structured?
Every lesson is structured around a specific topic (e.g. food) and it allows you to learn basic phrases and vocabulary about it. I generally aim to address all four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking), although in these classes there is a special focus on listening and speaking, as they are the skills that, in the first instance, allow you to communicate effectively as well as to build up your linguistic confidence.

What happens if I miss a lesson?
These classes are designed for those who can’t afford to join a conventional language course because of lack of time or other reasons, so every lesson in the course is strctured in a way that is fairly independent from the next one, meaning that if you miss one it should not be a big deal – and you are also free to buy the worksheet of the previous lesson to have a look at the vocab independently and catch up!

If I book the class now and then I realise I can’t attend, can I get a refund?
You can book now and get a refund but there is a firm deadline for it: you can get the whole price of the lesson refunded by claiming the refund no less than 16 days before the scheduled date of the class.

Are these classes good for me?

What’s the age of the people attending?
There are adults of any age! Come and join us  and bring a friend too!

How many classes do I need to attend to be fluent in Italian?
Becoming fluent in a language takes lots of hours of studying and consistent practice and it also depends on the language difficulty, your linguistic background etc. These classes cover the basics of Italian language , if you master those it’s definitely a stepping stone towards fluency but do not expect to be fluent after a few classes. If your objective is to become fluent in Italian and you need a flexible programme of study tailormade for you, get in touch, and I will be more than happy to design one for you.

How can I join the Italian Drop-In Classes?
Book in advance your place and get 10%off  and a guaranteed place in the class, plus a free worksheet including the lesson topic and main vocabulary (see section above). Or just come to the lesson and pay at the door.

What payment methods do you accept?
When you book in advance, for your convenience, transactions are handled via PayPal, one of the most reliable and secure platforms to handle payments online. You can also pay in cash at the door, once you come to the lesson. Unfortunately, at the moment I am unable to accept cards for payments at the door.
