A few years ago, I used to think I needed more face to face sessions with my clients to help them get the results they wanted with their Italian.

I needed more time with them and they needed more time with me…

Yet, the truth was that I had to coach them how to stay the course with their Italian learning (even when I wasn’t with them) and hold them accountable for their results.

Because I soon realised (as a learner myself) that it doesn’t really matter how many hours or lessons you spend with your teacher.

In fact, you can either do one hour of mindless learning, where you are half focused (thinking about what-you-need-to-do-next) OR 30 minutes of learning where you are fully focused and you learn exactly what you need to reach your learning goal.

Guess, you can realise which one is most beneficial.

At the same time, if you don’t take the time to be consistent in your learning, review, practice and develop what you learn… you’ll soon forget whatever you learn.

So I decided to find a way to empower my students to learn Italian not only when they were with me, but also without me.

That didn’t mean I wasn’t there for them — after all, my private clients can ask me any question through voice chat at any time during the day.

Nor it meant that they didn’t get any Italian practice — because voice chat is also a great tool to get speaking practice without having to see one another necessarily!

It didn’t even mean they didn’t get any “lessons” — because I have a library of video + learning sheets with all the language topics my clients need.

What it meant was they were in charge of their learning as much as I was in charge of their coaching.

They were in driving seat as much as I was.

And this is why they were getting the results they were looking for!
